Hi folks, I have just ordered all the parts for my new gaming PC besides the GPU. Current specs are:
Corsair CX 750watt (overkill I know but got a great deal and helps with future proofing)
AMD FX6300
MSI 970A - G43 board
1TB Caviar Blue
AMD 3850 GPU
The GPU was a gift from my Father from one of his old builds as I only had an old AGP Graphics card so this will get the system running while I consider the GPU options.
Basically my question is this. The PSU has 2x 6pin PCIe power connectors. I know the R9 270 uses only one 6pin but the 270x uses 2. Would I be better off by getting one 270x or would I be better with a 270 and the option to add another in crossfire at a later date? My gut tells me the 270 in crossfire is the way to go but I am unclear as to whether there are better options. Many people seem to be able to run 2x 12 pin GPU's with only 2x 6pin connectors, is this possible, or even advisable?
