270 Toxic Upgrade: What would you do?

Hey guys, how is it going?

I have a R9 270 Toxic and no complaints, its great. But its been a year and a half and i think im ready for an upgrade.

What do you recommend? Im looking for a good quality improvement without going to the extreme.

My PC:

i7 2600, 8 GB
DELL U2211H
HALE82 750W

R9 280x minimum mate ,a 290 if you can afford it.

On the nvidia front theres pretty much the 960 which isnt enough of an upgrade imo & the 970 which is expensive.

You can run any of those cards with the 2600 with good results.

I see price drops being imminent (especially in the UK/US with the new series of amd cards due out in a week or so.

Here in my country the 290 and the 970 are almost at the same price, so i guess this one is better? What model of the 970 would you choose then?

I would pick literally any 970 over any 290 if they're around the same price.
I honestly haven't really seen a bad model 970 - they're that efficient that they all run relatively cool & quiet.

I'm running a Galax exoc (now branded kfa2 in Europe) & its a better card than 90% of the mainstream brands.
Failing that zotac & palit seem to be the cheaper European cards & they're still decent.
