2700x OC cooling options

Will a Ryzen 7 2700x overclock further on an EVGA CLC 280 or a be quiet Dark Rock Pro 4? I am planning on letting Precision Boost handle my OC, so I guess my question is which one will allow PB to push further.
Any advice?

If you're not going to manually OC the processor, the stock cooler is enough. But I don't think there has yet be a "vs" comparison between those two coolers. You might try Frosty Tech to see if he has added those to his reviews and use his charts to compare.

I am not going to manually OC the CPU for a while... Not until I muster the nerve to do it. Last time I overclocked something it was an old gpu and I almost killed it because I thought it was okay to run at 90c... now I know better...

I will probably manually overclock someday, but until then I will use the stock cooler.

What boost clock speeds should I expect from the stock cooler and a MSI Mortar mobo? Also, how loud is the stock cooler?

Not having the 2700 or the rest of your rig, I'd only be guessing. And I'm a lousy guesser. Have you read Tom's Hdwr. review of the 2700X? Should be quite similar.

The boost speed will be determined by how many cores are in use and how close the temp is to max TDP.
