I recently brought a sapphire 270x dual x oc with boost (this is it's name). At stock it stays at 1070mhz at 1.238 V but in furmark it drops at 1020mhz with 1.188V.
If i overclock the card at 1150mhz it throttles at 1091mhz . The overclock is done without touching the voltage.
I'm not sure if it throttles in games though.
Should i return the card ? Does it seem problematic ? Is it normal ?
On sapphire site my video card is rated at 1020 and has no boost.

I can send it back untill 8 april and i can't test it anymore because i am not at home.

Thanks in advance!

You don't need to send it back. Furmark is sometimes referred to as a 'power virus', it's maxing the GPU in a way that no real world application (games or otherwise) ever will. All modern CPU & GPUs will throttle themselves when they exceed heat or power thresholds, there's no surprise that Furmark strays into that territory. You've got a good card there.

My suggestion: Download MSI Afterburner. Any GPU software will work, you dont' have to use Sapphire's. (I like MSI's software cuz I can make a custom fan profile and has more options then Sapphire's) Then increase the Power Limit by 10%. Afterwards you are free to slowly increase the Core Clock to reach optimal speeds.
