and it sayz

Radeon R9 270X HIS IceQ X Turbo Edition is a special edition of the high-end Radeon R9 270X.
This edition comes with a custom cooling system called "IceQ", which reduces the card's temperature under load, significantly and comes overclocked out of the box in the central unit that was increased from 1000MHz to 1100MHz, while the Boost clock is now of 1140MHz.
Benchmarks indicate a 4% performance boost over the standard edition and so this card will surpass a Radeon HD 7950.

and

Radeon R9 270X Sapphire Toxic 2GB OC Edition is a special edition of the high-end Radeon R9 270X.
This edition comes with a custom cooling system called "Tri-X", which reduces the card's temperature under load, significantly and comes overclocked out of the box in the central unit that was increased from 1000MHz to 1100MHz, while the Boost clock is now of 1150MHz. Also, the operating memory clock is now of 1500MHz.
Benchmarks indicate a 5% performance boost over the standard edition and so this card will surpass a Radeon HD 7950.

so i checked this

http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=1946&gid2=671&compare=radeon-r9-270x-his-iceq-x2-turbo-edition-vs-radeon-hd-7950

Shader Processing Units 1280 vs 1792
Actual Shader Performance 1240 (270x) vs 1219 (hd 7950)

is this true?

Correct. the 270X and HD 7950 are a bit identical in performance but the 7950 wins by a small percentage. So, I will go for the HD 7950. it comes on top when comparing with the 270X.

Did that before posting. As stated before, check your links, we talking about very little performance gain. 270x and 7950 are very similar in performance.

ok so it is safe to assume that this information from game debate is false and not reliable - even though the r9 270x is using 1240 vs 1219 (7950) actual shader performance the 7950 would still perform better.

so not even a beefed up toxic edition 270x would surpass a reference hd 7950

Benchmarks indicate a 5% performance boost over the standard edition and so this card will surpass a Radeon HD 7950. (says game debate)

from now on i would not believe data from game debate.

well if its overclocked to a certian clocks than yes but than you can also overclock the 7950
