275 gtx outpreformed by 7900gtx

Hey guys, ok ill keep this simple, i play counterstrike source, in the stress test i get 530 ish fps average with a 7900 gtx brought a 275 gtx today put it in and i get 500 fps, to me this does not make sense..any ideas? power is in, drivers seem right...im baffled

the fps between the two are closed. maybe the game best peak performance is around there. anyway its an old game. some old games can't utilize new card well thus they perform better on older card
