I'm buying a monitor for my machine soon (today-ish) and am having trouble deciding between monitors. One monitor is a 28" HannsG Monitor for $300 (1920 x 1200), and the other is a 32" Proscan LCD HDTV for $330 (1366 x 768.) Obviously, I don't know which to choose. I researched HDTV's vs LCD's and read about both choices being better. So, I'm stuck.

I'll be playing games on the monitor (I have a 1GB Radeon 4870 in the machine) and will be connecting via HDMI (I have a total of two HDMI ports on my computer if it matters.) I'll also hook up an XBOX 360 and a Wii to the monitor (too lazy to buy specific HDMI cables for them so I'll buy a converter from HDMI to RCA if I go with the HannsG.)

I wont be watching TV on the monitors, but I'll be watching Netflix and BluRays. Also, I'll be using external speakers so sound from the monitor doesn't matter.

Anyhow, which screen should I choose?

I did some more research about HDTV HDMI and PC HDMI. I read that the picture is much better. So, does anyone have experience connecting an HDTV HDMI to a PC HDMI? Does it make that much of a difference?

EDIT: My current monitor is a borrowed 15" Dell screen with the resolution of 1024x768, so both of the screens should technically have better resolution than my current setup.
