Hello,

So currently my CPU is on an AIO, it’s a 9900k OC’d to 5ghz, and I want to water cool my GPU, so I figured I would just make a custom loop for the whole system.

The problem is, I can fit a 240mm Radiator at the top, and a 280mm front, but my 2080 Ti is too long and I’m not able to fit a fan on the bottom half of the 280 Radiator.

So my question is, what would be better...

The 280mm radiator, with just one fan? Or just get a 140mm radiator?

Thank you.

Neither, would be my recommendation. You're crippling the cooling on a 9900k by using either of those scenarios.

9900k is a CPU that really needs a good cooler. Either run the 280 with both fans, or get a good air cooler. Skip that 140mm AIO...it isn't going to be worth it.

Thank you rubix,

I’m confused though...

So like right now, my CPU is being cooled by an Asus 240mm AIO.

But my plan is to get rid of that AIO and put together a complete custom loop with EK Parts.

So it would look like this;

240mm Radiator on top + 2 Fans
280mm Radiator on the front
Pump + Reservoir
EK GPU and CPU block

The issue is that I can’t fit 2 fans on the 280mm front radiator, I can only fit one fan, on the top half of it. The bottom half would be fan-less.

So it’s either that, or instead of using a 280mm radiator, I use a 140mm radiator.
Not sure which option would be better cooling wise/most logical?

Would a 280mm Radiator missing one fan cool more than one 140mm Rad + Fan? Or it would be essentially the same thing?

Well I would prefer to make it work in this case specifically since I want to make a compact build.

If I was using a 2080 Ti FE it wouldn’t be an issue but the Rog Strix is 1” longer than the normal 2080 Ti.
