I have a ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM monitor that has a 280hz option in it. recently that DP cable that came with it went bad and i have been trying to find something that could replace it. Whenever i check amazon alot of them say dp 1.4 but i cant tell if they will run 280hz. Could someone help me with a cable that i could use that would work my monitor? im looking all over amazon but cant seem to find a cable that says 280hz on them. Thank you for all the help in advance

For low resolution (1080p like this monitor) even display port 1.2 can do 288Hz refresh rate in HBR2 mode.

Which is just as well, as this monitor only seems to have a DP1.2 port (HBR2)

Displayport 1.2 spec is capable of 1080p 240Hz. Somehow this monitor does 280Hz, not sure how. Anyways, HBR2 as said above or HBR3 (DP 1.4) cable will work. DP 1.4 cables are backwards compatible with 1.2. just means you have a higher grade cable.

Cable brands such as Accell, Club3D, Startech, Cable Matters, many others are pretty good. Get one that has sold a lot of and has high reviews on Amazon.

More info on various display connectors and capabilities. Put Displayport in source field.
