Hey, i just have a quick question for everyone about performance in Grand Theft Auto 5. I own an R9 280x, and I have been playing a lot of GTA V lately. However, I recently noticed that my game seemed to be running much slower than cards similar to it, like the R9 285. (According to benchmarks like these: http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/1905-gta-v-pc-fps-benchmark-graphics-cards) From what I know, the 280x is slightly better than the 285.
This is my build:
CPU: i5 4670k @ 3.4GHz
GPU: XFX R9 280X
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 @ 2133
Motherboard: MSI G45 Gaming edition
PSU: Corsair TX 850M
I did notice that the benchmark I am referring to was using a generation above my CPU, so I expect to get slightly less performance. Surprisingly, unlike the average FPS shown in the benchmark, (which is 55 fps at 1080p ultra) when I crank the settings up to ultra in 1080p, I never seem to get above 30 fps. even when i turn the settings down to high I only average about 45 fps. What is causing this and is there anything that can help? Thanks.
