I got an Asus 280x a few months ago, when i first got it the temp would sit at about 32*-34* at idle but over the months the idle temp has been slowly climbing and now sits at about 40*-41* at idle.
Any idea why this might be?

Thanks.

Do you live in a climate that makes you run the heat in the house in the cold part of the year and thus your ambient temp is probably higher, especially if any intakes are near a heat vent.

Also, has your CPU changed at all.

Lastly, how are the GPU fan's? Clogged up?

Thanks for the reply guys

Cable management is the same as it always was and dirt/dust isn't a factor because I clean the system out pretty much fortnightly. Thinking it might be the thermal paste. CPU hasn't changed at all.

As for the climate i live in Australia and we are about in the middle of summer here but the card was heating up when we were having 30* days now we're having 40* almost daily and the card isn't responding to the extra heat, just sitting at 40*-41*.
