How necessary are contact frames on the high-end Z890 boards, and in general on the 15th gen?

I bought the Z890 Aorus Master, which comes with the RL-ILM instead of the standard one:

The RL-ILM (Reduced Load-independent loading mechanisms) significantly improves thermal performance up to 4°C and avoids possible bending of the CPU IHS (integrated heat spreader), allowing overclockers and enthusiasts to push their CPUs beyond the limit without any worries.

However, I remember on 14th gen, the contact frames improved temps by up to 7c, right? Did they fix things since, or is it still that much? Cause if so, I prefer the frame over the improved RL-ILm. Steve did some testings with it compared to standard. About 2-2.5c difference:

I'd like to see a comparison of RL-ILM vs Contact Frame, but I can't find any. Anybody has an idea?

Thanks!

ps cooling is a 420 AIO

14th gen had a lot more temperature to lose.

At those temps, do you need it? (That chart is with an air cooler) I don't think there is going to be much of an improvement with even the maximum delta you mention (5C)

I would say if you are going to spend the time, might go direct die for maximum effectiveness. If that is too expensive and a contact frame makes sense. Go for it.
