Hello,

I've been looking to upgrade my monitor. I'm looking to buy a 29" IPS 1080p Ultrawide monitor but have no idea what brand to get.

My current monitor is a 24" Acer S243HL and I'd like my new monitor to be a decent upgrade.

I watch a lot of TV shows and movies on my PC and play some games (FIFA18, Runescape and Tekken 7) as well as browse the web normally.

Budget is around £250-300 with 300 being a price I'd like to avoid if possible.

Any ideas?

Only 29" Ultrawide 1080p IPS monitors at that price range are the LG 29UMxx models (and an AOC model (https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/TBMFf7/aoc-monitor-q2963pm), but it costs ~300, which you want to avoid).

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Monitor: LG - 29UM68 29.0" 2560x1080 75Hz Monitor (£253.97 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £253.97
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Solution
I haven't personally tried the LG, but based on reviews, it is. Check the reviews in the pcpartpicker I linked as well as in Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-29UM68-Ultrawide-Monitor-2560x1080/dp/B01BFH194W). I am using a 29" Ultrawide IPS 1080p as well, but, the Asus PB298Q (way back in 2015).
