xfx 295x2 , vizio p652ui-b2 , 27gbps hdmi cable, mini dp to hdmi adapter that was included with card, latest amd catalyst drivers.

I was under the impression that i would be able to get 4k @ 30hz with the setup above but my computer / catalyst software only shows/allows 1080p.

catalyst does show the TV model under display properties.

how do i get it to push 4k, is there a way to manually enter a resolution?

please help, i hope i didnt spend all this money on a "4k" card for 1080p

Solution
Well, there's 2 different likely problems.

#1: The DP ports on the are not working, you would have to return it to the manufacturer to replace or fix it, it is one of the most common problems with the 295x2.

#2: The adapter that came with it is a very cheap adapter that will only allow up to 1080p, but there isn't an adapter in the world that can convert DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 yet. So that would most likely be the problem.

So the only solutions are to change to a newer GPU like gtx 970, 980, Titan X, or 390x for HDMI 2.0 so you won't need an adapters. Or just wait a couple months for a new adapter that will successful convert DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0. Or switch to a Panasonic TV because they are the only ones in the world that has built in...

Solution
it was the adapter! the included adapter is an old dp mini to hdmi verison that limits 1080p. i purchased the newer "Cable Matters" 4k adapter and 4k popped right up! (at 30hz that is)

thank you for your tips.

i know i will be buying a new adapter as soon as the 4k 60hz models come out, but this will hold me over. for $13 bucks, im not made about that.

I'm having the same problem with my XFX R9 295x2 but I'm using a DVI to HDMI and am only showing a maximum option of 1080p. My Nvidia cards (780's and 780Ti's) recognise all resolutions, up to and including, 4k @60hz using the same lead.
