So i am trying to choose which monitor to get, so here is the situation.

I will be getting a Ryzen 7 1700 and a NVIDIA GTX 1080 (remember NVIDIA uses G-sync NOT free-sync)

The 2 monitors i am thinking about are the 29UM58-P and 29UM68-P

The only differences are

29UM58-P $339 (no free-sync) and 2 HDMI ports

29UM68-P $439 ($100 MORE) and (HAS free-sync) and 1 HDMI port, 1 DVI-D DUAL-LINK and 1 DISPLAYPORT

I googled what is FreeSync, It's basically like Nvidia's G-Sync.
LFC (FreeSync) is an exciting new feature of Radeon Software that effectively extends the refresh rate range of many AMD FreeSync™ displays, enabling pristinely smooth gaming down to 30 FPS or less. Many popular AMD FreeSync™-ready monitors automatically use LFC when Radeon Software Crimson Edition (or later) is installed.

As you have an Nvidia GPU, I don't think FreeSync matters.
As of the ports, HDMI is good enough and is widely supported. (My 10-year old laptop also has HDMI)

I'd say go with the cheaper monitor and save some bucks.
