Hi there-
My old Radeon crapped out recently, so it's time for a new card. My display is the Sony GDM-FW900, so I need something high-performance, but I always feel funny paying for all that 3D stuff, because I never use it. I do graphics-intensive work (layouts, design, Photoshop, etc.), but it's all 2D, and the only games I ever play are old adventures. I did like the onboard DVD decoder feature of my Radeon, and dual-monitor capability would be nice, but neither are necessary. Any recommendations?

TIA,
Andy

All recent Radeons will do a good job in 2D
I would get a Radeon9000 or 9600, (no pro), so no fan on it, making it quiet for your pc as well

The ATIs are good (I own them), but I would recommend MATROX for the very best in 2D AND Multi-monitor support. Nothing beats them (ATI comes close).

Just my 2 frames worth; but if you look at the history of this question these are the two answers you get.
