2GB DDR3 kits

Dumb question, putting for example 3 2x1GB kits to fill out an i7 mobo will make it triple channel if its the same ram?? or putting 3 single 1GB dimms buy separate but same ram will make it tripple channel??

Yes, same thing.
If you have RAM that are the same size and in triples, then you have triple channel.
