2GB of GDRR3 vs 1GB of GDRR5

Solution
Get the 1GB GDDR5 card. The reasoning for this is that its a low powered card and as such wont be pushing the kind of performance that could use 2GB anyway.
Even a 6950 with 2GB of GDDR5 is no faster than a 1GB GDDR5 card.

Mactronix.................... v true these little cards can't push the 2gig of ram but, the 6950 at higher res and settings _1600 + ) will take advantage of the extra ram. I ran 1gig and 2gig cards (6950's) on the same machines. It has absolutely nothing to do with providing more FPS but a better/smoother gaming experience......

Taken from the Techpowerup review

It looks like AMD has listened to the countless requests for a cheaper HD 6950 card. With just 1 GB of memory, instead of 2 GB, the card retails for around $40 less than its big brother. Even though memory size might suggest otherwise, we have seen absolutely no evidence of reduced performance. In no game, not even in Metro 2033 or Crysis, and no, not even at 2560x1600. This means that 1 GB of video memory is still a viable choice for a high-end gaming card today.

First link blocked, second link...well im not sure what you are trying to prove ?
If you are asking me to believe the testing of people I don't know and be prepared to ignore a respected hardware site, well then sorry friend its just not happening.
