2GB page file size with 8GB memory?

I recently upgraded my laptop from 4 to 8GB ram which caused me to lose several gigs of drive space. Since I am on a 64GB SSD and space is already limited I lowered the paging file size from 8GB to 2GB. Is this a safe thing to do? I use the laptop for web browsing/school work.

If Windows runs out of page file space, you are going to start seeing popups telling you that Windows automatically increased it to prevent applications from crashing due running out of virtual memory.

Until you start seeing virtual memory spam and possibly run out of disk space, there should be no problems.
