Been researching around for a 2k monitor since black friday is going on. My friend recommended the

ASUS TUF Gaming 27" 2K HDR Gaming Monitor (VG27AQ)

which apparently states that it is g-sync compatible, but some reviews say it isn't. I'm not exactly sure if g-sync matters too much in the long run in comparison to free sync (and yes I did try to research the difference, but still found different opinions). So, I would like to know:

1. does it matter whether it has g-sync or amd free sync?
2. If any of you guys have that monitor is it that good?
3. Do any of you have a better recommendation?

My budget is about $450 tops for a monitor and preferably one that can also be VESA mounted. Thanks for the help.

My Specs:

OS: Windows 10 Home
Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower Case
Motherboard: AORUS master Z590 Version F8a
CPU: Intel I9-10900KF 3.70Ghz
GPU: MSI GAMING X TRIO GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB
RAM: Team T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600
PSU: Seasonic Prime Fanless 700 W 80+ Titanium
SSD: Samsung Evo 870 1TB

1: depends on what you play/do on a daily basis. My experience is that g-sync is better than free sync as it is better at preventing screen tearing, but as far as I know that is the biggest difference between the two.

2: I don't have it. But when reading reviews the main thing that's consistently being mentioned as a downside is the IPS glow/backlight bleeding. But as mentioned, I don't have it myself.

3: I personally have the Xiaomi Mi 2K Gaming Monitor 27". I'm very content with it, it also supports g-sync and has no issues with IPS glow whatsoever. It's also in the same pricerange. Note: I am not at all a hardcore gamer nor PC-expert.

I appreciate your feedback regardless and I'll take your answers into consideration while I ponder about this. Thanks.
