2K Gaming Parts Upgrade Suggestions

My computer has always been a bit of a mix as I upgrade slowly over time. I was hoping my next upgrade would be able to do some 2K gaming by adding a GTX 1070 and a getting a new Monitor. I would like to spend less than $900 USD for both. Any suggestion on what parts I should get or if I should focus on upgrading other parts first?

2K IPS monitor that I use and love it, not the fastest response time but works fine for me.
And yes just pop in a gtx 1070 and your set. (might overclock your processor some.)
