So I have 3 AOC monitors that are 2560x1440 at 144hz with gsync compatible that I game on and was wondering is the rtx 2080 perfect and the rtx 2080 to overkill?? Trying to way out the pros and cons. Currently have the 2080 and thinking about the 2080ti

You already have the card and monitors? Then easy to find out if you should upgrade, are you happy with how things are running now? It's very easy to find out through checking on benchmarks how much benefit you will get with a faster card.

If it was my system, I'd wait till next generation cards are out.

Also you are talking about 2k gaming, your resolution across 3 screens is not "2k". 2k is 2048×1080, your screens are way over that even with a single screen. That is a huge amount of pixels.

I'm happy with the setup but since I only had it for a week and some change. I was thinking if I just upgrade the 2080 to the ti version I might be set for the next couple years just how the 1080ti is just like the 2080. Just trying to see if it's worth the extra money for the ti.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I just thought that 2560x1440 was 2k since it was 1440.

2560x1440 is often referred to as "2K", regardless of whether that's technically accurate. I prefer "1440p" though.

The issue here is that you have 3 of them. Assuming you want to game on all three, it's about three times more demanding on the GPU than a single 1440p display.

So would you say that its 4k.

Also are you also saying that the rtx 2080 isn't enough and enough to justify the extra money for the rtx 2080ti?? Would you say that the rtx 2080 ti will be strong enough for the years to come??

Technically I have 4k monitors then??

Well, no. You have three 1440p monitors. If you want to compare it to a 4K monitor, look at @sizzling's post above where they calculate the number of pixels in a 3x1440p setup compared to # of pixels in a 4K monitor. How demanding it is on your GPU is more or less proportional to the number of pixels.

Yes, I would absolutely get a 2080 Ti if you can. Especially if you hope to get >60 fps so that you can at least somewhat make use of the monitors' high refresh rate.

As far as being strong enough for years to come, assuming you're talking about AAA games at high settings a 2080 Ti is going to struggle even now, let alone in the future.

Edit: missed the fact that you already have a 2080. In that case I agree with @hang-the-9, you're probably better off waiting until the next generation of high end GPUs come out.

Not at all what I said, I said since you have all the equipment, you can decide if it's not good enough for the card to run it. I also said I would not upgrade from a 2080 to a 2080 Ti but wait till next generation. With the 3 1440 monitors even a 2080 Ti will not be worth the change to sell your card and buy the new one.
