Hey all,

I recently purchased a new system and built it myself. Everything works perfectly fine except for 1 main thing: My 2nd GPU will not show ANYWHERE.

Gfx cards: 2 x Sapphire Radeon 6950
Motherboard: Asus Maximus IV GENE-Z

Now, I know that it is working because the fans are spinning on the GPU, i have the crossfire cable firmly connected and same with the molex cables.

The second GPU will not show in the BIOS, will not show in the GPU-Z utility and the crossfire option is no where to be seen in CCC. I have CCC 11.8 btw.

Would anyone be able to tell me whats wrong? It would be MUCH appreciated :)

oh and for some reason the fans are very loud on my GPU but i suspect that its because my top GPU is so close to my bottom GPU?

Thanks in advance

Set your PC up to run with a single vid card, no crossfire. Does it run OK?

Now replace vid card #1 with vid card #2. Does it work ok?

Repeat the above two steps using a different PCIe slot. Does each card work by itself when in that second slot?

What make/model of PSU are you using?

Yes, they both work fine, i found out what the problem was. The second card wasnt getting adequate power which was wierd because the cable i had it on was also running other things. Its got a P4 connector on the end of the power supply cable i connected the 2nd card too, where does that P4 connector go? :\

oh and im running the first graphics card off an extra cable that i added to the power supplys 6 pin connector.

Im using Antec Continuous Power 850W
