2nd hand i5 still under warranty?

The product is not used, but I would not the be the original buyer, so would it still be under warranty if i had all the paperwork and the box it came in? theoretically, if it broke could i send it to intel and they would give me a refund etc?

Never seen a processor break. Except in one really old Pentium 4 based server.

That being said it should still apply if you have the receipt

I think all it would come with is the packaging and the stuff in the box, I don't think it comes with the order invoice or receipt....

I currently have an i3 3220 so have this paperwork. but what does this mean for me? do you mean if it broke i could get them to repair, replace or refund me?

thanks, do you think that it's worth buying the i5 for £90 instead of £163 without a warranty? thanks for the helpful replies everyone 🙂 it is new.

If the seller offers a refund/replacement for DOA items then it would be worth a shot. But if it is being sold as is with no chance of a refund or replacement I would avoid it. It very rare for a cpu to fail.
