2nd hard drive wont work

I recently upgraded my mother board and cpu to a ASRock 970DE3/U3S3 and a AMD FX-6300 and now when ever i turn on my computer with that second hard drive pluged in to my motherboard i cant axcess anything the computer just gets suck on a screen that says decetcing drives on SATA 5 i cant enter the bios or anything.. but as soon as i disconect the drive the computer works fine

im on windows 7 and it worked on my old motherboard why dosent it work now?

Maybe sata5 is set to the wrong mode? Try another port.

try moving the drive to a sata port that is lower in number than the optical drives. sata ports 4 and 5 are often used for optical drives. I would have my hdds on sata 0 & 1.

If that doesnt work then try updating the bios and see if that fixes it.
