2nd monitor is flickering

I recently bought Samsung S24E650 as my 2nd monitor, which seems to flicker. I have it connected to my laptop with an HDMI cable. What is weird is that I noticed somewhat of a pattern, it flickers a few times, then turns off for a second or two and turns on back again (but for most part, the flickers are random).

My laptop's GPU is gtx 1070

What I tried:

1. Making sure everything is stable (power supply, HDMI connection)
2. re-installing and updating GPU drivers

Would appreciate any help.

The HDMI cable may not be good enough (or maybe damaged from inside). You may try another HDMI cable.
