I just finished rebuilding my pc after some water damage, the old motherboard I had had a vga cable that I used for my second monitor. This new motherboard now has an HDMI output instead. But plugging that into my 2nd monitor does nothing, windows doesn't detect it. Am I doing something wrong?

Solution

Odd, normally I had my 2nd monitor run off of my motherboard io rather than my gpu (which I just put it in to). It works now but the 2nd monitor is very washed out for some reason.

In case you were wondering: It won't detect the second monitor while it's connected to the motherboard (it used to)
-I have a gtx 1060 connected (which I just plugged it into instead)
-Windows 10
-HDMI for Motherboard / DVI for Gpu

I am using HDMI for the 2nd monitor. It is not the same monitor, not sure what it really is it's been so long. But i'll give color calibration a shot, appreciate the help!
