2nd slot Pcie x16 not working on m5a78lm-lx3

Hi there,

Having problem with 2nd slot of pcie x16, when add in gtx1050ti to the slot the pc does not boot normally (black screen).

on slot 1 pcie it works fine.

Has anyone encountered this type of problem before?

Are you sure on your motherboard model? I just looked at it here https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LM_LX3/
It only has 1 full 16x slot. The 2nd full length slot is an older PCI slot, not to be confused with the modern PCIe x16, and there is no way your graphics card can fit in there.

Wait, are you saying that you can get the card to fit into slot 1, which is a short PCIe 1x, and it works?

The one with pcie x16 just plug it in the other pcie I'm using a riser cable for pcie.
