I have bought a 2TB HDD for my Intel ICH7r.
I totally forgot that this chipset does not support drives bigger than 2TB.

Is there a way to configure the drive, (at a basic level), so that the system does not see a volume bigger than 1,9TB?

Its curious that if the drive has no partition, it boots up and I can create partitions. The system crashes only once I write the first file on it or if I reboot after creating partitions!

Any IDEA?!

I already removed some GB to an unallocated partition - I am using the following settings:

only way i could think of is replacing the HDD board with a 1.5TB HDD board but thats a bad idea and could dmg the hard disk....maybe someone else has an idea that wont kill your HDD
