2way or 3way sli bridge ?

Hello i bought one more gtx 980 asus strix for my sli setup and im not sure which sli bridge i should get , a 2 way or 3 way ? Should i plug the second card in the second slot or third ? Im a bit worried that it will heath or maybe not even fit in the second slot im using a msı z97 gaming 5 motherboard , my questions are : Will they fit together in the first and second GPU slot because its a bit of a big card , second question is : if they are close together will they have heating problems ? So the short question is should i plug the second card in the 3rd slot or the second slot ?

That board can use two slots for SLI, but not three.

The board only comes with an SLI connector for two cards. Even a 3-slot card could be used for SLI on that board as there are two PCIe slots/slot-widths between the first and second PCIe 16x slots. Each slot will run at 8x/8x when populated.

put the second card in the second slot, there is more then enough room between the two cards on that board. And use the sli bridge that came with the motherboard.
