Hey what's up everybody I have a dilemma; i had 2 23.6 inch asus monitors but i decided to build a new machine and wanted to get a new monitor with my new machine, now i loved my dual monitor setup, but my first mistake when I built a new computer was getting a new monitor, I got a sweet deal on a Samsung 27 inch curved for 200$ now I should have just bought 2 that day because I haven't seen any at the price ever again. And I really want a dual monitor setup again.

I was thinking of selling my monitor and upgrading so here's where my dilemma begins I love my current 27 inch curved and I don't think I could ever go back to a flat panel setup. I would love to have 4k but I can't afford one; so I was looking at a 29 inch ultra wide LG, but I would want to have 2 of these.

So what it comes down to really is do I keep my monitor I love and just buy another one so I will have a dual monitor setup again or do I sell my monitor and buy 2 ultra wide monitors. Now I don't know much about ultra wide but it does have a better resolution then my Samsung and it is an ips panel.

My main use for the monitors is gaming, light video editing light photo editing and movie watching.

My current important specs are
I7 5820k
Xfx r9 390x 8gb

Now I'm willing to upgrade graphics or buy another for crossfire if I decide to get ultra wide monitor; I just want to get some people's opinions on what I should do thanks for reading.

Solution
A curved monitor would be perfect then. 😉
VRAM is only really utilized on the first card in crossfire though. 🙁
I'd stick to the single best performing card simply because scaling is hit and miss, and can be non existent in some games.
Do you want a high refresh rate?
What is the monitor you currently have?
Getting a flat screen as a second monitor could be a potential option, or simply reusing one of the ones you have.
I would normally suggest a graphics upgrade and a 34" ultrawide, but given you're photo editing, that could be a problem. :/
Is it professional photo editing?
I'd go for a 27" 1440p 144hz IPS monitor and a 1080/1070 if budget allows.
How much money do you have to spare for this upgrade? 😛

hey there thanks for the input i have 600$ to spend on monitors. monitors being the keyword i want 2 and i can buy another 390x and crossfire them so i would have 16b of vram essentially lol no professional photo editing just leisure. now i have seen some 2560x1440 ips monitors at my local pc shop but none of them are curved. thats why i was debating between the lg 29 ultrawide curved or just ad another 27 inch curved 1080p like i already got.

hello again regarding refresh rates i have heard or miss things about being able to actually see the difference between 60hz and 144hz but since i have never owned a 144hz i cant say anything i know lenovo makes a 1080p curved with 144hz plus i have also heard some monitors can be overclocked to 100hz or 120hz etc i dont know anything about that or how to check

now as far as the monitor i currently have, its this guy, now it doesnt have G or Free sync that im aware of and those may make a big difference or very little as i know little about them.

now as for as reusing the same monitor i have thats not a problem i just happened to see ultrawide screens and didnt know if those were better than what i have not to mention they look kinda cool.

hello again so i think i finally figured out what i am going to do i think i will see if samsung has a curved 27 inch free sync monitor i can get as my current one does not have that then i will make my current monitor my second one and use the new free sync one as my display for games enless someone else wants to chime in about ultra wide thanks for your help chugalug
