Hello there,
I was just wondering what difference would it make in performance or utility.

If i buy a 1TB SSD and make 2 partitions of it.
or
If I buy 2 SSDs of 500 GB each?

Which is better? What are the pros and cons of each? I'll buy accordingly.

Thanks.

No performance difference either way.

I prefer multiple drives vs 1 large one.
1 drive for the OS and applications, other drive(s) for other personal data.
If/when I need to reinstall or recover from a backup, the personal data or the OS is not impacted.

The one that looks like a stick of RAM is an M.2 format drive.

M.2 is just the package...how it plugs in.
The 860 EVO can be had in either the traditional 2.5" format or the M.2 format.
Same drive, just a different package. Performance is exactly the same.

  4. Adobe Animate
  5. Adobe Premier Pro
  6. DaVinci Resolve

For the software and OS, 250GB is fine. At Amazon prices, though...there is only $15 difference between the 250GB and 500GB 860 EVO.
$60 vs $75

From a performance point of view, one drive vs. 2 makes no difference.

I am in the camp of preferring a single large drive.
It is easier to manage one large space than two.

Regardless of how you do it, you should plan on having EXTERNAL backup for any thing you value.
