Erm... Need more input! Are you building a new system? Are you looking to upgrade later etc.?

Don't forget also that R600 cards are coming out pretty soon... Might be worth holding off a couple of months?

I would agree with baligavinod, reason being that you can upgrade for very much more performance in the near future when you're ready. Two 8800 GTS would be great but two 8800 GTX would be excellent! GTX has more power (in terms of pixel piplining, vertex shaders e.t.c. technically) which in fact, upgrading to SLI with two of them is cutting edge. R600 would be impressive for a short time, since nVidia is working on the 8800 ultra. Just the pricing battle between ATI & nVidia will be the war when those, R600, cards are released. nVidia has still, the upper chance in GPU's rapid development for tremendous graphics technology, while ATI is somewhat behind them.
