2x molex to 8pin PCI-E a good idea?

I have a Thermaltake PurePower 680W PSU that has 2 6pin connectors and I have a GTX 480 that uses a 6pin and an 8pin. Is it a good idea to use a 2x molex to 8pin PCI-E adapter to power it?

My specs: i7 870; ASRock H55M-GE; 8GB RAM;

Two 4-pin molex to 8-pin PCIe? Very bad idea. While far from ideal, better option would be connect one 6-pin, then use 6 to 8-pin adapter on the other.

Highly advise you get a newer PSU. That model is old and heavy on the 3.3 volt rail instead of 12 volts which you will need for that power hungry 480.

I mean 2 molex connectors. I have tried 6pin to 8pin and it works fine until it goes over 60% load and then it completely shuts down the card. And it's a GTX 480.

Meant two 4-pin molex, and mistyped rx480 instead of GTX 480. Updated previous post and added image.

What do you recommend I do? I am currently using a GTX 550Ti and the performance is sufficient, but still not great for the games I want to play.

Looked at the Nvidia spec page for that GTX 480 (quoted below). Given the specs in the PSU image above, you will be not have sufficient power for that card. Especially when you consider other components which run from the 12-volt rails. Either stick with the 550ti, or get a new PSU. A complete list of your system components will be helpful in giving best advise.
