2x NVIDIA Quadro K1200 in an Optiplex 7040?

Have a customer who wants 6x LCDs on a machine. Was thinking to put 2x NVIDIA Quadro K1200 in an Optiplex 7040. The cards don't take external power, just not sure if the power supply will handle it, or if I will need to step them up to a small Precision.

hard to address without knowing what is running on those 6 monitors. First thing I'd do tho is get them off Dell whose designs are focused on one thing and that's price point. Anything out of the ordinary is a challenge on a Dell box.

what all are they dong with the computer? If its just office work or a stock trader you can get away with 2 gt 710 that are $40 each compared to the $250 for the k1200

You could even bump them up to a EVGA GeForce GT 740 Superclocked DirectX 12 (feature level 11_0) 04G-P4-2744-KR 4GB @ $135 each and would be the same price as 1 k1200

Correct, they are traders. They have used the K1200 in the past and think they like it since it is 4x miniDP....looks cleaner that way. They are not super concerned about the cost.
