Hi, I have a question that i don't seem to find an answer. I'm building a gaming pc and i want it to be 8gb for now, and 16gb later. I'm buying an MSI B150M MORTAR Motherboard (Dual channel) which has 4 Memory slots. The question is: Should i buy 2x 4gb now and more 2x 4gb later (4 slots filled) or should i buy 1x 8gb now and more 1x 8gb later?

Thanks!

If even thinking 16GB get 2x8GB now, else go 2x4GB for the extra performance of running in dual channel - and keep in mind if you decide you need 'more' DRAM later - there are no guarantees than another 2x4GB (or whatever) set will play with the current sticks - even if you get the same exact model
As mentioned above me, 2 sticks is better than 1. Dual channel is op and all that. it's also safer, because if one stick fails, at least you have an "extra" stick to fall back on.

In spite of that, I would get the 1 x 8 gb. Higher total cap in your maximum ram, difference not all that noticeable unless you're paying attention, and I think cheaper (but that could be my imagination).
