2x R9 290's PSU and PCIe requirement?

If I were to get 2x R9 290's (non-x), would a 750w PSU be sufficient, assuming some OC'ng on both cards and an i7?

Would 2x PCIe 3.0x16 be needed for X-fire, and would 2x 3.0x8 be severe enough bottlenecks to cause concern?

Also, does anyone know when they'll release the non-reference versions of the cards?

2. Gen2 8x is more than enough for the strongest of cards, Gen3 8x is plenty.

About 2 weeks to a month after they release the reference cards (which no one knows when).
