2x Xeon E5-2699 v3 18 core CPUs and hyper threading

I have a workstation that has 2x 18 core Xeon E5-2699 v3 cpus. The thing I am trying to figure out is what I believe is a hyper-threading problem. The hardware manager shows 72 processors and the task manger only shows 36. Advanced boot options also only shows 36.

I made sure Hyper threading was enabled in the BIOS,and it is.

Is there anything I am missing?

Start by turning OFF hyperthreading in the BIOS and see if it makes any difference. Should be a real quick test...

Don't panic dude every thing is okay with your system. You don't see more than 36 cores in the Task manager because it wont show more than 36 cores. But still if you concerned, the best way to check is through CPU-Z.

What version of Windows Server are you running? (you are running Windows Server right?)

EDIT: FYI you need to uncheck that boot limit. That's logical processors, not physical cores. They will still show up in device manager, but they will not be scheduled
