Hello,

I currently got one 4GB RAM stick and I am planning to buy another identical stick.

Here is my motherboard:

Now the question is where do I put the 2nd stick in? If you enlarged the picture from the link provided I placed the 1st stick in the blue slot (the one near the CPU), where the other one suppose to go - for best performance?

You may say check the manual but the manual is damm vague and it only tells me HOW to put it but not where for dual channel.

I am already using this PC for 2 months now, I just wanted to upgrade my RAM tomorrow afternoon.

Also last question, in gaming 4GB is enough so 8GB is not really needed. But dual channel configuration can improve performance. Is that true? Because my CPU (FX-8350) and GPU (R9 270X) play games like Arkham City at 40-55FPS, but the online benchmarks shows that it does play 60+FPS but they use test rigs that are dual channel 2x4GB.

I also play Battlefield 4 and get 40-80FPS (mostly stays at 55), I just wonder if I placed another stick I could squeeze an extra 5FPS?

Thank you.

Also I appreciate if you can provide links to articles or video that shows dual channel can help improve performance, because I am kind of weary about this topic. This is my first PC and it is quite decent for its price but it struggles maintaining 60FPS so I am a bit sad (but I shouldn't be!).

Sorry if I post too many times but I also have another question.

Lets say Dual channel does not really improve that performance that much (5% MAX increase). but does adding more RAM can improve performance even though game is using less than 4 anyway (4vs8GB). Skyrim only uses less than 2.75GB and it is capped at 3.1GB but I installed a mod that allows it to use more than 4GB if necessary.

Battlefield 4 recommended specs is 8GB but it really only needed 4GB unless my computer is restricting itself to use less than 4GB because it only detects 4GB physical RAM?

You mean the 2nd, 3rd or 4th slot? Because I already got 4GB on the 1st Slot.
And I already got my other stick of 4GB ram on the 3rd slot the day after I made this thread.
