Thanks blackbird and James.
Atm i only have 1 graphics card cable coming out of the psu (it is 6 and 6+2) I suppose the other cable is still inside the box then. but the box is at home (in another country) so I will have to buy a new cable... do you guys recommend any cables? is it safe to connect a 8 to 8 pin plus a 6+2 pin to the gpu or should i connect 2x8 pin from the slots in the psu and ignore the cable that i have. I see that the voltages are different between a 8 and a 6+2 pin slot that comes out from the psu.
This is a bit tricky, actually . Modular power cables are not universal on the end that goes into the power supply, so it's not as easy as just picking up a replacement. You can typically find aftermarket cables that are compatible with specific power supplies, meaning that if you have a mainstream Corsair or EVGA or SeaSonic-branded PSU, you can usually find a compatible one. For a rather obscure company, that's a lot harder and your good bets are pretty much limited to either getting your cable or contacting the company itself and seeing what they can do for you.
