[SOLVED] 2x6+2 to 6 pin. Can the 2 pin be ignored?

Hello there

I recently upgraded from a graphics chip to a video card. And my card has a 2x6 pin to 8 pin. My power supply only has one 6 pin. I plan on buying an adapter but the only one i could find were 2x6+2 to 6 pin.
So i want to ask if i could ignore the two extras?

chances are your PSU simply won't support the card.

My video card is the radeon rx 580.
And the ports are 1 HDMI, 1 DVI-D and 3 Displayport

That was my plan B, but i can't seem to find any with 2×6pins. The only i could find were also 2x6+2. Is there any recommendation you can give me?
