Would i be better off running two 6770's in crossfire or just a single 6850? I am putting them on ASUS Crosshair lV Formula mobo with a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition CPU. Resolution is 1920x1080. Gearing up for BF3.

In terms of raw performance, the two 6770s would be a bit faster than one 6850. However, the Crossfire setup would consume a lot more power, and you may have to deal with microstuttering issues. It's probably better to go for a stronger single card setup. A Radeon HD 6870 is about equal to two 6770s in Crossfire, and would definitely cost you less, and performs quite well for most titles at 1080p. A 6950 1GB is a little bit faster than the 6870, and would probably get you better performance in BF3.

If the only CPU intensive thing you do is gaming, don't bother with the Phenom II X6. Games don't use more than 4 cores, so the extra 2 cores would be wasted. BF3 is rumored to be more heavily threaded, and might use up to 8 threads, but you would get more performance spending your money on a better graphics card, rather than on extra CPU cores, especially at your resolution.

I don't mind waiting for the bulldozer/HD7000 upgrade but does anyone have a link to explain more about this like price, release date, comparison, etc. Thanks for everyone's input and I will probably go with that 6950 Purple Stank.
