It isn't recommended to buy RAM from seperate packs.

RAM sold in the same pack has been tested at the factory to work together. If you mix RAM modules, even the same make/ model from seperate packs, there is no guarantee they will work together.

The best choice would be to buy a proper 2 x 8GB pack.

Yes you can as long as both modules are from the same retail pack.

yes, if you buy 2 of the same sticks of ram and use them both, it will be twice as much ram as just the first stick.

also ive never had an issue mixing sticks from different retail packs so long as they are identical make. just saying.
