3.0 GHZ 8mb vs 3.66 GHZ 1mb

We are looking at ordering a new terminal server. Dell is offering us a great deal but I need some advice. I have not been able to find benchmarks comparing the two, can anyone give me some benchmarks or winners on these:
Dual 3.0 GHZ Xeon with 8MB cachce vs QUAD 3.66 Xeon with 1 MB Cache
Quad 3.0 GhZ Xeon with 8MB Gache vs QUAD 3.66 Xeon with 1 mb Cache
Dual 3.33 GhZ Xeon with 8 MB cache vs Duel 3.66 Xeon with 1 mb Cache
Quad 3.33 GHX Xeon with 8 MB Cache vs Quad 3.66 Xeon with 1mb Cache

We have a good offer from dell to pickup the quad 3.66 Xeon with 1mb cache, but we dont mind spending the money on the 3.16 or 3.0 with 8mb cache, but not sure if they are worth it.

Dont have any benchmark handy, and this is more a opinion than facts btu I dont think the extra cache would help you that much. The extra cache is L3 cache, it does help to keep the CPU fed with really high IO but I would rather have the extra HZ!
IS there any diffenrence other than the cache? the FSB/core anything?

THey talk about the diffenrent core, you should ask Dell to supply you more information on each core so you can do some readign and make a more educated choice!

Ideally I would build operterons but management loves Dell and I cant convince them to let us build one our selves. Ill call our contact at Dell and see if he can supply me any more info on the cores/fsb's.

I talked to Dell, heres what I got
the 3.66 1 MB cache they sell is the 8500 Chipset, 667mhz
the 3.0 and 3.33 8mb cache are also 8500 chipset, 667 msz fsb.

Does that help?

8 Mb caches certainly do help, especially in the quad machines, but there is no way anyone here can tell you which machine to get, and wether or not you need quads rather than duallies. The obvious question to ask would be what machine you are running now, and how does it perform ? Will the new one serve the same number of clients ? Maybe this can help in sizing the machine:

It does talk about opterons though, HP also seems to think using opterons is a better idea for terminal server
