3.0 USB Port Isn't Working

Hello, first I would like to apologize I don't have A LOT of PC knowledge, but can follow directions if clearly stated.
So, I have recently purchased a device that will not work properly unless plugged into a 3.0 USB PORT. (Yes, there is a USB 3.0 Cable) It works, and gives power to the device, just doesn't let the device run, in other wards it is most likely working as a 2.0 USB Port. This is the best I can really describe the situation if you have any other questions, please ask.

What is the device and what is it plugging into? If your motherboard doesn't support USB 3.0 then you are out of luck.

make sure if you have a intel mb with the blue usb ports the newest intel chipset and usb driver is installed.

My device is an Elgato HD60s Capture Card. It is plugged into the Blue 3.0 USB Port in the front of my computer.

using the newest drivers??

Check with your device manager setting and see is there any error with the driver for the USB 3.0. Also make sure with plugging and check if bios is enable.
