Question 3.5mm audio jacks are only giving static on the Asus Prime H410M-E and the "AULED5" orange light is always on ?

Hi there, recently purchased a second hand gaming computer, and both the back and front audio output jacks have only been producing static.

The "AULED5" orange light is always on

Specs:
Asus Prime H410M-E
Intel i3-10100f
AMD Radeon 6600 XT 8GB
16GB of DDR4 RAM - 2666 MHZ

Have done all the update drivers first-result crap, any ideas? Really nice computer, and would hate to return it.

Go to the Asus website and find the appliable motherboard User Guide/Manual.

There should be some listing of what the orange LED is indicating.

What are you using to listen to the audio: headphones, headset, speakers.....? Try the device on another known working (no audio static) computer.

Try other known working headphones, headsets, speakers, etc. on the second hand gaming computer.

The objective being to determine if the static problem follows the listening device(s) or stays with the second hand computer.

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Verifiy by sight and feel that all connections (including audio) are fully and firmly in place.

Inspect all plugs and ports for signs of debris and damage. Especially around the I/O panel audio ports and the case front panel audio ports.

Also consider that there could be a TS, TRS, TRRS mismatch.

Key is to narrow down the potential culprits either directly or by elimination.
