Hello. I recently bought an EVGA Geforce GT 730 graphics card to replace my old card. When I boot up the computer, it goes to the blue HP startup screen, beeps 3 times, and then goes to a black screen with a blinking underscore in the upper left corner. With my old card, the first screen I see has details regarding my graphics card, then I see the blue HP Startup screen, and then it goes into Windows. It boots up fine when I put my old card back in.
I've tried to look into solutions for this. One solution I've seen is to upgrade the power supply. My power supply is 300W and my new card requires a 300W power supply. When I originally got my old graphics card for an old computer, the power supply wasn't strong enough, and the computer beeped, but didn't display anything. So even though it's acting a little differently could the power supply be the issue?
I also read that updating the BIOS could help. I don't have a clue on how to do that.
I don't know what specs are important to share, so I'll just say it's a p7-1209 HP Desktop.
