Motherboard : Intel DH77EB
Processor : Intel i5-3550
RAM : GSkill RipJaws DDR3 1600MHz 8GB (2x4GB)

I was using an Asus P8B75-V motherboard which got damaged. Everything was fine with that. It got damaged and bought the intel motherboard.
Now whenever I connect a RAM to channel A, system doesn't POST, only 3 beeps. When I individually connect any of the ram to any of the 2 slots in Channel B it works. Both works together when connected together in Channel B. But Channel A doesn't work, neither individually or in pair.

What could possibly be the issue?

Solution
Sounds like channel A on the motherboard is defective.
If you can, return the motherboard.

If not, running single channel is not the end of the world.

I don't think I can return. This is some very old stock which I got from a seller in eBay. LGA 1155 boards were no where available.

I was thinking of getting another 16GB of RAM. Seems I'll have to ditch this 8GB now.

Not available in India though. I need 4 slots for RAM and 5 SATA ports. All I can get, at a reasonable price, is Intel DH77EB or Gigabyte B75m-D3H from ebay.in or Amazon.in. All OEM motherboards.

I came across this thread : http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1788763/gigabyte-motherboard-ram-channel-broken-continuous-short-beeping-ram-inserted-channel.html

My exact same problem. Let me try disassemble everything and assemble again tomorrow. I'll post the updates then. If nothing works, I'll return. No idea if the seller has another replacement board or not :-|

I recently diagnosed a similar problem.
The motherboard would post with one stick, in any slot, but not with two.
Turned out to be a defect in a 4670K which was replaced by intel.

Such issues could be a defect in the cpu, but I suspect not.
Possibly one of the motherboard socket pins is bent and that can cause such strange issues. Check that out.

As to extra sata ports, you can always use a add in pcie card which can give you 4 extra ports.
