I know there's at least hundreds of temperature threads and threads on how to configure your temperatures, but I can't even imagine how to apply all of that to what's going on here.

First, I have an E8400 @ stock everything, and I know at least one temperature sensor is stuck. It only goes up when I run Prime95.

When I run Prime95 here's the temps I get in 3 different programs for load:

Speedfan = 42c

HWMonitor = 46c - 47c

Real Temp = 36c

Ambient temperature is 73.0 F

I'm using the bigger Xigmatek w/ retention bracket and AS5 paste.

What temperatures am I supposed to be trusting here?

If you do the steps outlined in the Real Temp calibration guide, it is supposed to be as close as the get.

I do know that they have corrected the Deltas of TCase to TJ to be compliant with intel spec, and the guide is written based off intel design and calibration.

I was personally to lazy to do it. But it must be right. Sure enough, my new board, the Delta hasn't been much off. And intel states the Max delta is 5.5c.

Try it and see!

If you dont wanna do it, looks like its Core temp And HWMonitor. They are the perfect pair. Keep yer OC to the usual 65c loaded and get to cranking it!

Also, run Core Temp anyways, and list the VID of your processor, please?

Thanks!

^Agreed, read the Real Temp site thoroughly and look in the forums.

Also, CompuTronix's Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide is back. Don't get hung up on the points that are over your head, the more you look into it, the clearer it will become.

If your Prime95 load Core Temps are well below the danger levels, and you don't understand fully, don't lose sleep over the Tcase etc.
