3 displays with Radeon HD7870 HELP!

I have recently decided to connect a third display to my system and due to Photoshop not agreeing with multiple displays running on multiple GPUs I have decided to try and connect all to my main GPU.

The card has 1x HDMI 1x DVI and 2 x Mini Displayport.

I bought an adapter for the latter so I could connect one of the HDMI displays to it.

No matter what I try I cannot get all three displays to become active, I have tried the two hdmi displays in both configurations and in the end one will not work.

Windows shows the 3rd display detected but when I choose to extend the display I get an error when applying, and Catalyst refuses to open after trying to load for a few seconds while all three are connected.

The monitors are a Samsung 2233SWPlus running a DVI to HDMI cable, centre is an LG E2442VA with HDMI and, and the third is an AOC TFT22W90PS, also connecting via HDMI.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me completely insane.

Most AMD cards can only output 3 monitors if your using either 2 dvi or a dvi and a hdmi with a displayport connection. Most cases a active adapter is needed for the third monitor, but from the research i have done that was for people trying to use eyefinity though a passive should have worked. Check if your drives are up to date or reinstall them.

Yeah, I recently updated drives as I reinstalled Windows.

I just want it to work anyway, it's not for gaming or anything.

It seems after looking around a little more that it might be a case of needing an active adapter. I will get one and see how things go.
